Tulum is a popular beach vacation destination for people from all around the world. With its delicious Mexican cuisine and fun bars and clubs it is a popular place to vacation for a couple of days. Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline and it has truly beautiful beaches to spend a nice afternoon at. You can go to public beaches or go to the “Hotel Zone” and spend some time in one of the many beach clubs.
With all the options out there, the question which a lot of people ask themselves is: which beach club is the best in Tulum?

Rosa Negra Beach Club
Price:$$$
Rosa Negra is known for its upscale restaurant where you can eat and drink and party at night. Next to the restaurant, there is Rosa Negra Beach Club which is open every day from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM. They play mostly Reggaeton and offer a variety of great food and delicious cocktails. Their interior is absolutely stunning and the typical Tulum vibe. If you want to take some Instagram pictures, Rosa Negra the restaurant or the beach club are the best places for that.
Villa las Estrellas
Price:$$
This beach club is more of a quieter beach club a little bit further down the on beach road. It doesn´t get as crazy as in other beach clubs and you won´t find as many tourists here as in some other places. There are usually more expats and locals going here which is why it is not as crazy as the other ones. There are usually DJs that play here and they have a great variety of music. Taboo Beach Club
Taboo is one of the most famous beach clubs in Tulum and is very popular among tourists. They are also very Instagram worthy and they’re a beach club and restaurant in one. They mostly offer mediterranian food and seafood and great cocktails. They’re also part of the Rosanegra Group so their prices are the same as in Rosa Negra or Tantra. They also have DJs and live music and they are open from 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM. Check out their website here.
Tatich Beach Club
Price:$$
Tatich is one of the more affordable Beach Clubs on Beach Road. The entrance fee is about 25$ per person (2023) and you can also get a table and the amount you spend on the table goes towards food and drink consumption. This might make more sense if you are a large group of people. They have great cocktails and a nice location with 2 levels and “nests” where you can hangout at. Their DJs mostly play Hip Hop music and you will find a lot of tourists here. They are open from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Tantra Beach Club
Price:$$$
Tantra is also one of the Rosa Negra Group Beach Clubs so prices are the same as in Taboo and Rosa Negra. They are also very Instagram worthy and perfect if you want to take some photos there. They offer mostly seafood and sushi and amazing cocktails. There is also live music and DJs and you will find a lot of tourists here. Overall it’s very similar to Taboo and a great place to have a good time. They are open from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Check out their website here.
Vagalume
Price:$$$
Vagalume is my favorite club to go out at night. During the day it´s a wellness beach club with great music and amazing food and drinks. You often see Vagalume in pictures because of the two hands over the pool. It is a very good spot to take Instagram pictures and overall it’s just a great place to be. They are open from 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM so you can come here during the day but it turns into a club at night time which is what most people come here for. Check out their website here.
Public beach
The public beach is free to go to although I think you have to pay a fee now if you come with a car or motorcycle etc. This is new so I’m not too sure how much it is exactly. You can still take a Colectivo from Tulum town in the direction of Playa del Carmen and get off at the “ruins” or Tulum ruin stop and walk to the public beach. There are a couple of fun bars and restaurant where you can spend the day at but they are not like the actual beach clubs on beach road. Coming here is an option if you don’t want to spend much money and still want to have a good time with friends and hangout in a nice ambiance with great music and vibes.
Ikal
So this is a bonus tips and again as I mentioned Ikal is technically not a beach club but it is one of the most popular spots on the public beach, so I had to include it here. Ikal is a hotel and has a restaurant and bar. It is really popular among expats and for a good reason. They have live music and amazing food and cocktails. You can never go wrong going here and every time you go it´s a good time. There is no entrance fee which makes it the perfect spot for a nice afternoon at the beach.
