Because of its year-round amazing weather, it is a popular winter vacation destination, especially for those who want to escape the cold and who can work on their laptops from anywhere in the world. To do so you´re likely in need of a great Café that has good coffee and strong WIFI. In this guide, I will share with you the best cafes to work from in Playa del Carmen for Digital Nomads.
1. Bajo Café, the best cafe to work from in Playa del Carmen
Number One on the list is Bajo Café. This cute Café is my absolute favorite of all of them and if I was back in town for only one day, this would be my go-to spot.
The Café is basically part of a whole Mercado where you can find the café, a restaurant, and a shop that sells local artisan clothing and accessoires. They have great WIFI, plenty of seating space and a bookshelf where you can take a book and read if you need a break from your Laptop. You´re surrounded by trees and plants and there is even a little fountain and a swinging chair in the back.
This café is popular among locals and tourists and for a really good reason. They have really good food and a lot of vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Their Vegan sandwich was absolutely delicious and they have one of the best Matcha lattes I´ve ever had. My boyfriend had their mint coffee (his favorite) and one of their smoothies which was also really good so I think it doesn´t really matter what you order, you can´t go wrong here with whatever choice you make. I was the most motivated and the most productive in this Café so this is one of the best cafes to work from in Playa del Carmen for Digital Nomads.

2. Choux Choux Café
Choux Choux Café has a really cool vibe. The interior is all wood and they have a huge heart painted on a wall which looks amazing. Their coffee is good, their breakfast is delicious and their sandwiches are nice too. It´s a great place to work from because their WIFI is great and you will see a lot of people there working from their Laptops. It´s one of the best cafes to work from in Playa del Carmen for Digital Nomads.

3. Quadra Café, a great cafe to work from in Playa del Carmen
Quadra Café is a newer café that just recently opened in Playa del Carmen. Their Interior is clean and they have plenty of seating space. They don´t have the fancy Matcha or Chai lattes but if you like good strong coffee and great wifi then this is your place to go.

4. Ojo de Agua
Ojo de Agua is a really nice café with great coffee, Chai and Matcha. Their all-wood interior is super nice and the inside of the café kinda looks like a supermarket where you can buy fresh vegetables. They have seating outdoors and the whole vibe of the café reminds me of Tulum. I spent a couple of hours here working on my laptop and making use of their great WIFI. It is labeled as a restaurant but there were a lot of people working on their laptops only drinking juice or coffee without ordering food (including me) and it seems that no one had a problem with that.

5. Ah Cacao
I had to put Ah Cacao in the list. Ah Cacao is a Mexican chocolate company based in Playa del Carmen. They operate five retail stores and cafés selling coffee and chocolate products, which are really good. You can also buy their chocolate products in a lot of big stores like Mega Soriana.
I went to Ah Cacao a couple of times and everything I had was really good. Their Chai is amazing and I loved their carrot cake and they have really good prices too. They have a lot of locations on the famous 5th Avenue which makes it a perfect spot to hang out, have a coffee, and people-watch, but it is also a great place for Digital Nomads to work on their laptop because they offer good WIFI and lots of seating space.
They also were recognized as a “socially responsible company” and they financially support wildlife conservation projects so if you need a good Café to work from in, definitely check them out.
